Tireurs d’Élite Britanniques, 1808–1815Revue de Figurines de Revell au 1/72
Tireurs d’élite britanniques du 95e Rifles, wearing green rifle uniforms avec black facings, et white piping. Regulations trousers were rifle green as well, although grey trousers may have been worn in the field. Riflemen attached to the 60th (Royal American) Regiment were similarly uniformed, except that they had red facings, et grey trousers. Armed avec the Baker rifle, these troops were expert marksmen capable of hitting targets well beyond normal musketry range. The Rifles earned fame during the 1808-1814 Peninsular Campaigns, et they served avec distinction at Waterloo en 1815.
The figurine poses are perfect for joueurs de guerre who need firing, loading, et observing riflemen to deploy on their socles d’escarmouche. Riflemen were trained to work in pairs. One man would fire et reload, while his buddy covered him. Contenu42 figurines en 12 poses – 23 mm correspondent à 166 cm hauteur de corps
ÉvaluationNicely detailed figurines. Folds in the clothing, collars et facings, shako covers, rolled cloaks, canteens, gaiters, belts, buttons, pouches, sabres, muskets et metal fittings are well sculpted et easy to paint. The figurines are noticeably shorter et slimmer than the Napoleonic miniatures from other manufacturers ou even Revell’s own Grenadiers de la Garde impériale. The sculpting style is similar to l’Infanterie Prussienne des Guerres Napoléoniennes de chez Revell. Useful historic poses. The figurines appear very natural, because of the standard poses which have been used. All of the 42 soldiers make excellent wargame et diorama figurines, they may be deployed en unités tirant, avançant, defending et marching. Relatively few riflemen were engaged in the Guerres Napoléoniennes, et simulations gamers will find all the figurines they need in this set. In addition, the figurines lend themselves to a number of interesting conversion. Correct painting instructions on the box: Les hommes are shown in the grey field service trousers, instead of the green trousers worn avec full dress. Satisfactory casting quality. There is some flash, et noticeable mould lines need to be removed prior to painting. Two poses carry mould lines down the center of the face which require careful attention. The officer’s index finger is much too big compared to the other fingers on that hand. A little carving work will be required to fix that. Un des tireurs d’élite avançant looks like he is about to engage in a sword-fight, using his bayonet. The pose would have been more attractive avec the man actually fixing the bayonet on his rifle, because he is already holding the rifle in the required position. Le clairon is holding his rifle in an uncomfortable position. The pose may be improved by bending et relaxing the arm a little. Le rifleman chargeant seems to be ambling, he has his left foot forward et the left arm extended forward at the same time. This pose is not nearly as good as the running poses de l’infanterie soviétique de la Seconde Guerre mondiale de chez Revell. Emploi Historique

Bibliographie
Tireurs d’Élite Britanniques are a must-have for Napoleonic joueurs de guerre et modélistes. These Revell figurines are great, they fill the niche perfectly. Rifles are a rare troop type, et it is unlikely that gamers et collectionistes will need many boxes of them. Fortunately for Revell, a similar style of uniform was worn by other allied units engaged in the 1814-1815 campaigns.
